Classy filly One More Song bounced back to the winner&rsquo;s list in the feature $107,250 Magain The Shillabeer (1400m) at Oakbank on Easter Saturday, April 4.
After having absolutely no luck when at Morphettville Parks on March 14, the three-year-old appreciated a better run to grab a photo finish win at the course of natural history.
Backed from $7 into $3.60 for trainers Aaron Bain &amp; Ned Taylor and ridden by Rochelle Milnes, One More Song won by a head from Boolcunda Dawn ($14) with Kalmana ($3 eq fav), a neck away third.
After beginning nicely, Milnes allowed the filly to balance up early and drift back to the tail of the seven-horse field.
With a good tempo early, One More Song was able to lengthen on straightening and sprinted well down the outside to grab a victory.
Trainer Aaron Bain said he was so pleased to have a good race win for Angaston Park proprietor Wayne Mitchell.
&ldquo;It was a nail-biter, and I wasn&rsquo;t sure we got there on the line,&rdquo; Bain said.
&ldquo;It was a big win, especially for Wayne (owner Wayne Mitchell). To get a nice horse for him, there is a lot of work at his Angaston Park property.
&ldquo;Ned (Taylor), Will (O&rsquo;Malley) Nathan (Higgins) and the team contribute and for what Wayne has put into the sport since 2010 when he started with Tony (McEvoy) at the farm to finally have a nice horse that can go and win races is really exciting.
&ldquo;She is a lovely filly, and you have to put a line through her last run &ndash; she was five wide around the Parks.
&ldquo;She has got the hunger &ndash; she loves to chase the line, she&rsquo;s got a great attitude and will to win.
&ldquo;One More Song had to make a long sustained run today. She got challenged late but dug deep.&rdquo;
Bain said the Listed $120,000 Sir John Morphett Adelaide Guineas (1600m) at Morphettville on Saturday, May 2 was a possible target going forward for One More Song.
Winning jockey Rochelle Milnes was pleased to ride another winner for Aaron Bain Racing.
&ldquo;I&rsquo;ve started to do a bit of work for Aaron (Bain) and Ned (Taylor) and was rewarded with a winner for them at Balaklava on Wednesday,&rdquo; Milnes said.
&ldquo;This filly dug really deep today.
&ldquo;She did herself good justice today.
&ldquo;The race worked out to be the grind I thought it would be.
&ldquo;It wasn&rsquo;t Plan A or B, I had to shuffle back through the plans and find a new one coming down the hill.
&ldquo;I would have liked to be a bit closer in the run, but it didn&rsquo;t pan out that way.
&ldquo;She was tough, got in front and to maintain that she has done an excellent job.

Improving three-year-old Woodstock broke through for an impressive maiden win at Clare on Saturday, April 4.
The victory brought up an early Easter double for part-owner Wayne Mitchell, the proprietor of Angaston Park, and trainers Aaron Bain &amp; Ned Taylor, who had won earlier in the day at Oakbank with the talented filly One More Song.
At Clare, Woodstock made a one act affair of the Plains Producer Colts, Geldings &amp; Entires Maiden (1100m).
Jockey Matt Chadwick had the gelding, the well-backed $1.95 favourite, away well to find the lead and he was never seriously challenged winning easily by 2-1/4 lengths from Now East ($2.80) with Bjarne ($7), a neck away third.
Winning trainer Ned Taylor said Woodstock had won well.
&ldquo;He got the monkey off the back today,&rdquo; Taylor said.
&ldquo;It was a very good win and that was the plan taking him to Clare.
&ldquo;We knew this was the right race for him.
&ldquo;He will take a lot of confidence from the win.
&ldquo;At the 400 (metres) and again at the 200 (metres) I thought he had the chance to give up, but rather, he found a length or two and really put them away late which was encouraging to see.
&ldquo;There is no doubt he is now learning about racing. We will see how he pulls up before making any plans.&rdquo;
Winning jockey Matt Chadwick was full of praise for Woodstock.
&ldquo;He did it easy,&rdquo; Chadwick said.
&ldquo;He got to the front very easily, but I had to niggle at him a little bit coming to the top of the hill, but he just kept finding and finding.
&ldquo;Hopefully that is a sign he can go on with it now and win better races.&rdquo;

ABR Weekend Preview

Aaron Bain Racing is looking for our first black type winner on Saturday at Morphettville.
NOLABELL is poised to have her first start in the $120,000 Listed Dequetteville Stakes (1050m) for two-year-old fillies.
A daughter of the stallion D&rsquo;Argento, NOLABELL has always shown potential for ABR and has earned her opportunity to run first up in a black type race.
The filly won a 600 metre jump out at Morphettville in December, but trainers Aaron Bain &amp; Ned Taylor opted to give her a break rather than push on and head to the races.
NOLABELL ran second in a 600 metre jump out at Morphettville on February 24, then won a 600 metre jump out at Murray Bridge on March 12 indicating she has continued her improvement.
A number of high-profile Victorian trainers have nominated fillies for the Listed feature, so it certainly be a quality race.
No runners for ABR at Strathalbyn on Wednesday but the trainers will head to that track on Thursday with a number of horses to trial.

Big harness racing weekend for Aaron Bain Racing on and off track.
On Sunday, our star two-year-old LOUCASSO was named winner of Victoria&rsquo;s 2025 Two-Year-Old Colt &amp; Geldings.
Trained by Emma Stewart, LOUCASSO won seven of his nine starts as a two-year-old picking up the Group 1 Protostar, Group 2 Breeders Crown and the feature Graduate Series collecting $400,000 in stakes.
KISS was named Victoria&rsquo;s 4YO Pacing Mare for 2025.
She won five of her 10 starts last season, with a second, three thirds and fourth with her best win being the Vicbred Super Series.
ABR&rsquo;s Breeders Crown three-year-old winners BEACH DIAMOND and CAPTAIN PERFECT were runners up in the fillies &amp; colts &amp; geldings awards.
On the race front, ABR started off with a win at Mildura on Friday with first starter BITE THE EAR MIKE in the McDonalds Mildura Maiden (1790m).
Driven by Wayne Hill for trainer Peter Bain, BITE THE EAR MIKE came from gate six but was able to find the lead and win comfortably by eight metres rating 1:59.9.
The three-year-old colt is eligible for Qbred bonuses and is likely to head to trainer Chantal Turpin to suitable races.
At Globe Derby Park on Saturday, talented mare NAROBI, despite an early burn, led throughout from gate one in the Barry Forrest Memorial (2230m).
Reinsman Wayne Hill had to drive up to hold the inside from another runner which pressured early, then faded to be beaten 112 metres.
NAROBI rated 1:58.8 for a one metre win making it five victories from her last seven starts.
ABR&rsquo;s star CAPTAIN PERFECT stepped out for the first time as a four-year-old at Melton on Saturday in the Hyland Racing Colours Pace (1720m).
Backed from $2.20 into $1.35 favourite, the Emma Stewart-trained entire, driven by Mark Pitt, pushed forward to find the front from gate four and led throughout to score by a metre rating 1:54.8.
CAPTAIN PERFECT has continued to improve with racing and ABR is hoping for a strong year in 2026.
<h3>Harness Racing Update</h3>
First-starter BITE THE EAR MIKE was ABR&rsquo;s Weekend Star for his excellent debut win at Mildura last Friday.
Trained by Peter Bain, the colt won a trial at Gawler on the preceding Sunday before heading to Mildura where he had to come from gate six, the outside of the front row.
Reinsman Wayne Hill had BITE THE EAR MIKE away well and worked his way across to find the lead after a short battle.
Once in front, Hill rated the three-year-old perfectly with a 60.5 second first half of the last 1600 metres before increasing the tempo coming home with 29.7 and 31.0 second final quarters for an easy win.
ABR will now send BITE THE EAR MIKE to Queensland and trainer Chantal Turpin for suitable races as he is Qbred and eligible for their attractive bonuses.

ABR Midweek News

The 2026 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sales were conducted at Morphettville on Thursday and Friday.
ABR picked up three yearlings on day one to add their numbers gathered around Australia and New Zealand.
The first purchase was a bay filly by the Irishe-bred stallion Royal Meeting out of Raweesha, dam of the stakes-placed multiple winner Outburst plus two other winners.
ABR picked her up for a bargain $5000.
Another bay filly, by Supido from Close To My Heart cost $36,000.
Supido is the sire of the very smart Buenos Noches among 97 winners while the dam is a three-quarter sister to stakes winner Admiralofthefleet and has produced three winners.
ABR&rsquo;s final purchase on day one was another filly, by Kermadec from Cruz By which also cost $36,000.
Kermadec is a proven stallion and has sired Group 1 winner Montefilia. The dam won four races in Brisbane and has produced three winners.
Expect ABR to be active again on the second day of the sale.
All purchased will be on display at the ABR Autumn Parade which will take place at Angaston Park on Sunday, March 29.
Gates open at 10am with a 10.30am start as patrons can see some of the stable&rsquo;s newest horse, view the current favourites and explore the property that sits at the heart of the ABR operation.

<h2>Harness Racing Update</h2>
Hopefully ABR will have good news next week following Sunday&rsquo;s Harness Racing Victoria&rsquo;s 2025 awards at Melton.
We have six horses in the finals in their respective categories with DEAGARMEA TEALE (2yo pacing fillies), LOUCASSO (2yo pacing colts &amp; geldings), BEACH DIAMOND and IVSEENHEAVENSLIGHT (3yo pacing fillies), CAPTAIN PERFECT (3yo pacing colts &amp; geldings) and KISS (4yo pacing mares) listed.
Surely LOUCASSO must be a long odds-on favourite to win his division for at least one ABR win.
On the racing front, trainer Peter Bain is staking first starter BITE THE EAR MIKE to Mildura on Friday for ABR.
The three-year-old colt won a trial at Gawler last Sunday running a smart 1:59.5 with a good last quarter of 28.6 seconds.
He has drawn the extreme outside of the front row in gate six in race four, the McDonalds Mildura Maiden (1760m) at 3.42pm SA time with Wayne Hill in the sulky.
Saturday sees the Strathalbyn Cup meeting at Globe Derby Park.
In-form mare NAROBI will run for ABR in race three, the Barry Forrest Memorial (2230m) at 7.51pm SA time.
She has drawn beautifully in gate one for trainer Peter Bain with Wayne Hill in the cart.
NAROBI was not disgraced at her last start finishing third after racing parked behind a hot speed and her previous wins had been very good.
No doubt there will be early pressure again but expect NAROBI to figure in the finish.
Interstate, ABR&rsquo;s star CAPTAIN PERFECT return to racing at Melton.
He is listed to run in race eight, the Hyland Racing Colours Pace (1720m) at 9.18pm SA time.
Mark Pitt will be in the sulky coming from gate six.
CAPTAIN PERFECT has not raced since December 13 when he won his division of the Breeders Crown at Melton.
He ran second in a trial at Melton on March 10 and reports are he was very impressive. Hopefully, he can prove too good on Saturday.
At Albion Park, IMA QUEEN BEE scores up in race three, the Garrards Horse &amp; Hound Mares Open Pace (1660m) 7.02pm SA time.
She has drawn gate 10 with Pete McMullen booked to drive for trainer Chantal Turpin.

A busy day for Aaron Bain Racing at Oakbank on Wednesday with five acceptors on the seven-race program.
LARGS LEGACY backs up after an excellent second at Balaklava last week in race one, the Magain Real Estate Maiden (1900m) at 1.40pm SA time.
Taylor Johnstone retains the ride on the filly as she steps up in distance drawing barrier two in an acceptance of 11.
LARGS LEGACY tried hard last week and was far from disgraced and looks an excellent chance to break her maiden on Wednesday.
Next up, in race two, the Ray White Real Estate Maiden (1400m) at 2.15pm is DISCREETLY BLUE.
Jason Holder stays in the saddle drawing gate 10 in an acceptance of 15 which includes one emergency.
DISCREETLY BLUE also ran well at Balaklava at his most recent start, finishing second with the winner proving a shade too good.
The four-year-old has been placed seven of his 12 runs and gets his chance to notch his first win on Wednesday.
Improving WOODSTOCK lines up in race three, the Capetal Advisory Maiden (1050m) at 2.50pm SA time.
Connor Murtagh retains the ride with a barrier draw of 12 in an acceptance of 16 with two emergencies.
WOODSTOCK ran his best race when third at Balaklava at his most recent run and gets his chance to show up again.
LITTLEBOURKESTREET is ABR&rsquo;s runner in race five, the Harcourts Adelaide Hills Class One Handicap (1100m) at 4pm SA time.
The four-year-old mare has drawn gate five in an acceptance of 11 with Jason Holder to ride.
The daughter of Ilovethiscity resumed with a very good third at Morphettville on February 21 and has been given time to recover from the run.
LITTLEBOURKESTREET looks well placed on Wednesday and should be competitive.
TERRITORIAN completes ABR&rsquo;s day in race seven, the Klose&rsquo;s Supermarkets Colts, Geldings &amp; Entires Rating 0-56 Handicap (1400m) at 5.10pm SA time.
Jason Holder has the mount coming up with barrier nine in an acceptance of 18 with four emergencies.
TERRITORIAN has a win and second from four runs at the trip and has been placed in one run at the Hills course.
He has run okay in three runs from a spell and Wednesday gives him a chance to step up.

The autumn South Australian racing carnival heats up for Aaron Bain Racing on Saturday.
ABR has four acceptors including the second run for New Zealand filly THUNDARA plus the return to racing of the promising ONE MORE SONG.
THUNDARA starts our day in race three, the Sportsbet Same Race Multi Maiden (1400m) at 1.02pm SA time.
The filly has drawn gate nine in an acceptance of 14 but there were two early scratchings, both drawn to her outside.
Top jockey Jason Holder retains the ride and came up to Gawler on Tuesday to ride her in her final piece of work.
THUNDARA ran really well on debut for ABR when fourth over 1250 metres at Morphettville Parks on February 28 and will appreciate the step up in distance on Saturday.
Betting agencies have THUNDARA at $4.20 behind the $3 favourite Sicilian Princess.
Ultra-consistent STOKOMO lines up in race four, the Adelaide Galvanising Industries Handicap (1300m) at 1.37pm SA time.
He has drawn barrier six in a field of nine with Campbell Rawiller to ride.
STOKOMO has run good seconds at his three runs from a spell and expect him to go forward and give a bold sight again.
He looks reasonable value at $6 each-way behind the solid $2.40 favourite Autumn Frost.
FOLLOWING SEA lines up in race nine, the Sportsbet Black Book Handicap (1550m) at 4.37pm SA time.
He has come up with gate four in an acceptance of 12 with Todd Pannell engaged.
The five-year-old was a handy first up sixth at Morphettville on February 21 and will be fitter on Saturday.
Expect FOLLOWING SEA to run well through the line.
Agencies have FOLLOWING SEA at $8.50 in early markets with the favourite Annihilate at $2.90.
ONE MORE SONG, a winner of her two starts last preparation accepted in race 10, the Dominant Clean Sweep Handicap (1250m) at 5.18pm SA time.
The three-year-old filly has drawn the outside gate in an acceptance of 14 but there were two early scratchings bringing her into barrier 12 at worst.
Todd Pannell was keen to stay aboard having ridden her to both victories.
ONE MORE SONG hasn&rsquo;t raced since winning over 1200 metres at Morphettville on December 12.
She has run third and second in trials at Morphettville and Oakbank to ready her for a race return and ABR would hope she runs boldly on Saturday.
As much as $6.50 was bet about ONE MORE SONG which is now the $4.60 favourite in a very open betting race with a number of chances.
On Thursday, ABR took a number of our young gallopers to Murray Bridge for a series of 600-metre jump outs.
Trainers Aaron Bain &amp; Ned Taylor were delighted with the efforts of our runners and look forward to watching their progress.

ABR&rsquo;s outstanding young pacer LOUCASSO plus Breeders Crown winners CAPTAIN PERFECT and BEACH DIAMOND trialled well at Melton on Tuesday and are close to resuming.
On the racing front, at Albion Park on Saturday, IMA QUEEN BEE steps out for ABR in race three the Garrards Horse &amp; Hound Mares Open Pace (1660m) at 7.54pm SA time.
Trained by Chantal Turpin and to be driven by Tom Callaghan, the mare will come from gate five.
IMA QUEEN BEE has won 12 of her 51 starts and collected more than $110,000 in stakes to more than pay her way.
Monday sees ABR head to Globe Derby Park with two runners.
In-form NAROBI will attempt to stretch her winning run to four in race four, the Bianco Reinforcing Pace (1800m) at 2.45pm SA time.
She will come from gate five for trainer Peter Bain with Wayne Hill in the sulky.
NAROBI took out the Yorke Peninsula HRC Cup at Port Pirie in her most recent win on March 2.
POPPY LANE returns to racing in race seven, heat one of the Kevin &amp; Kay Seymour Pace (1800m) at 4.35pm SA time.
Wayne Hill drives for trainer Peter Bain starting from barrier three.
She has not raced since February 7 when unplaced at Globe Derby Park, but she did win a trial at Gawler earlier this month to have her fit for Monday&rsquo;s run.

Dashing Double

New Zealand filly THUNDARA will step out for the second time for ABR while the talented ONE MORE SONG is ready to resume.

Midweek racing heads to Balaklava again this week in South Australia with two acceptors for Aaron Bain Racing.
Our first runner is the promising LARGS LEGACY in race two, the Sportsbet Racing Form Maiden (1600m) at 2.15pm SA time.
The three-year-old filly has drawn barrier 10 in an acceptance of 12 with Taylor Johnstone to ride.
LARGS LEGACY has had three runs and improved at each outing and Wednesday&rsquo;s race looks ideal, but not the draw.
The positive is there is a long run down the back straight before hitting a turn so there is a chance to find a good spot.
The filly was an excellent second at Strathalbyn at her most recent run and ABR looks forward to her running well on Wednesday.
ABR&rsquo;s other runner at Balaklava is a recent addition DASHING DOUBLE in race four, the 118 years Racing at Balaklava Racecourse Maiden (1200m) at 3.25pm SA time.
The three-year-old gelding has drawn barrier four in an acceptance of 16 with four emergencies.
Todd Pannell has been booked to ride.
DASHING DOUBLE was formerly trained in New South Wales and had eight starts for four thirds at provincial and country meetings.
His last run was a fourth over 1600 metres at Nowra on December 31.
Since coming to trainers Aaron Bain &amp; Ned Taylor, the three-year-old has had a 1050 metre trial at Morphettville on February 12.
The three-year-old&rsquo;s best form has been over more ground, but the 1200 metres should suit for his SA debut.

Weekend Star
The lightly-raced RAVISHING RUBY is ABR&rsquo;s Weekend Star following her successful return to racing at Melton on Saturday.
Having just her third start, and first for trainer Emma Stewart after previously being prepared in Adelaide by Peter Bain, the three-year-old filly proved too strong for her rivals in the Dynamic Print Group Pace (2240m).
A red hot $1.20 favourite, RAVISHING RUBY came from gate two and was allowed to balance up early by driver Mark Pitt before being allowed to stride to the front.
The filly relaxed in front with a 61.1 second first half of the last 1600 metres. The second favourite Mister Americano made a quick moved down the back straight on the final lap and actually got three-quarters of a length in front.
Pitt had to shake RAVISHING RUBY up and she took a few strides to regain momentum but responded and regained the lead and drew clear to win comfortably by 4-1/2 metres rating 1:57.2.
ABR hopes the filly can continue to improve and go through the grades.
Peter Bain took her to Tasmania for her debut last year and she won her Produce Stakes heat at Hobart in good style but did not have the best of luck finishing second in the final.

Aaron Bain Racing has small representation on the Adelaide Cup day weekend of racing but look forward to the numbers increasing as the SA autumn carnival heats up.
One runner for ABR at Thomas Farms Murray Bridge on Saturday, then two at Morphettville on Adelaide Cup day on Monday.
On Thursday, trainers Aaron Bain &amp; Ned Taylor had eight runners at the Oakbank trials looking to go racing later this month, then in April &amp; May.
Star gallopers DUBAI FOCUS and ONE MORE SONG were among the triallists, and ABR looks forward to getting them back to the races.
On Saturday, the talented I AM THE TIGER will be ABR&rsquo;s runner at Thomas Farms Murray Bridge.
The three-year-old filly has drawn barrier two in an acceptance of 14 in race three, the Carlton Draught Maiden (1000m) at 1.06pm SA time. Already there has been two early scratchings.
Will Price has been booked to ride as he looks to re-establish his career in South Australia.
I AM THE TIGER did not jump well, then failed to handle the turn at her debut at Clare when a sound sixth.
Importantly, the filly won a 1000 metre trial at Murray Bridge on February 5 so ABR is confident she can run up to her best form on Saturday.
Expect her to be competitive and prove much more tractable.
Betting agencies don&rsquo;t rate her highly and I AM THE TIGER is generally $23 in a good race where Carpe Astra is the favourite at $3.90.
On Adelaide Cup day on Monday, ABR has two acceptors.
Last-start winner FLIRT is in race two, the Kirin Ichiban Handicap (1100m) at 1.05pm SA time.
Apprentice Taylor Johnstone will ride the three-year-old filly coming from gate one in an acceptance of seven. Her 1.5kg claims means FLIRT will carry the race minimum weight.
Johnstone rode the filly when she didn&rsquo;t handle the home turn very well but still proved too strong over 1100 metres at Clare on February 13.
FLIRT is an easing $4.40 chance with betting agencies after opening at $4 with the favourite Purfect Line at $3.80.
New stable addition NOSIE BY NATURE steps out for ABR in race four the Sportsbet More Places Handicap (1050m) at 2.15pm SA time.
The five-year-old will be ridden by apprentice Taylor Johnstone who claims 1.5kg drawing barrier two in an acceptance of 14.
NOSIE BY NATURE won a jump out for trainers Aaron Bain &amp; Ned Taylor over 600 metres at Morphettville on February 24.
The gelding has good natural speed and should be prominent for a long way. He is a winner of one race with five placings from 13 starts.
Some punters think NOSIE BY NATURE can run well and he his $12 into $8 with betting agencies behind the $3.30 favourite Miss Slipstream.
Harness Racing
ABR&rsquo;s outstanding young pacer LOUCASSO has been named Australian Two-Year-Old Colts &amp; Geldings Horse Of The Year for 2025.
The awards were announced on the weekend and LOUCASSO was a standout in his category.
Trained by Emma Stewart, the colt won seven of his nine starts with a Group 1 win in The Protostar with a sensational mile rate of 1:51.6 and a Group 2 victory in the Breeders Crown.
His devastating 24-1/2 metre win in the Breeders Crown on December 13 was his last run, rating a brilliant 1:52.2.
LOUCASSO is back in work and nearly return to the track as are his stablemates BEACH DIAMOND and CAPTAIN PERFECT, also last-start winners of their Breeders Crown finals.
On the race front, NAROBI continued her winning run at Port Pirie on Monday taking out the 2026 Robust Worx Civil Solutions Yorke Peninsula HRC Cup Final (2050m) for trainer Peter Bain and driver Wayne Hill.
