Aaron Bain Racing is always wanting to grow our business as well as promoting the racing industry.
This week, ABR had a tent at the very well-attended and popular Field Days at Paskeville in the mid-North of South Australia.
In conjunction with Racing SA, ABR’s Sales & Onboarding Manager, Nathan Higgins attended the Field Days and reported excellent interest from attendees who are more interested in horsepower of machines.
“Our display created a lot of interest,” Higgins said.
“Many stopped to have a chat and were happy to sign up for our newsletter and emails.
“It was a new audience to tap into and increased the awareness of Aaron Bain Racing.”
Aaron Bain Racing is looking forward to an outstanding October in both the thoroughbred and standardbreds beginning with this holiday weekend as daylight saving returns for most states.
Feature races are on the calendar in both codes in October beginning on Saturday with the standardbreds.
SHADY THINKER and TAINO ROCKET trialled well at Balaklava on Thursday and ABR is looking forward to having them at the races later this month.
A quiet start to the weekend with just the one runner at Morphettville on Saturday.
BUCKINGHAM PALACE has his second start for trainers Aaron Bain & Ned Taylor in race three, the Adelaide Galvanising Industries Maiden (1050m) at 1.47pm.
The four-year-old has drawn barrier 12 in a field of 13 with Jason Holder booked to ride.
Formerly trained by the legendary Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, BUCKINGHAM PALACE ran well at his debut for ABR finishing third over 1200 metres at Strathalbyn in February.
The gelding returned to racing at Mildura on September 6 finishing an excellent second.
BUCKINGHAM PALACE has had strong support in opening markets firming from as much an opening price of $3.80 to currently be the $2.80 favourite at the time of writing.
On Monday, ABR has four acceptors at the Sportsbet Gawler meeting.
MRS PENNY CRACKER is our first runner in race two, the Coopers Brewery Fillies & Mares Maiden (1200m) at 2.30pm SA time.
The mare has drawn gate five in a field of 14 with apprentice Taylor Johnstone to ride.
MRS PENNY CRACKER had little luck up the home straight when fourth at Bordertown at her most recent run and looks a good chance on Monday.
KING EDWARD steps out in race three the 2025 Gawler Cup Tickets On Sale Maiden (1500m) at 3.05pm SA time.
Owned by O T I Racing, the five-year-old has gate nine in a field of 13 and will be ridden by Todd Pannell.
The gelding found the 1250m too short at his first run for ABR and we would hope he will be running strongly through the line on Monday as he is expected to be best suited out over 1600 metres and even further.
The main race of the day at Gawler is the GBJC Labour Day Cup Benchmark 56 Handicap (1700m), race four, at 3.40 pm SA time where ABR will be represented by PACIFIC CROSS.
Todd Pannell rides the five-year-old mare which will jump from barrier four in an acceptance of 12.
He was aboard the mare on her ABR debut when an unlucky sixth at Balaklava over 1600 metres on September 23 after walking out of the gates.
PACIFIC CROSS should be competitive on Monday and looks well placed.
THERE GOES MY HERO returns to racing in race five, the Contract Engineering Class Two (1100m) at 4.15pm SA time.
He has drawn gate nine in an acceptance of 13 with one emergency but there has already been a scratching.
Apprentice Matt Chadwick is in the saddle, and he can claim 2kg off the gelding’s weight of 60.5kg.
THERE GOES MY HERO had a consistent campaign over longer trips earlier this year before going for a break.
He did win a 1000 metre trial at Murray Bridge in preparation for his return on Monday. He has been placed first up previously and also has a placing at the trip.
ABR would be expecting THERE GOES MY HERO to be running home powerfully.
ABR is looking forward to the action at Globe Derby Park on Saturday with several feature races for decision.
NAROBI, a brilliant first-up winner for trainer Peter Bain, runs in race six the Naracoorte & Penola Veterinary Centres Pace (2230m) at 9.25pm SA time.
The mare has drawn gate eight, one on the second row, and will be driven by Wayne Hill.
Trainer Emma Stewart is bringing SHORELINE DREAM across for the 2025 Hygain Sapling Stakes (1800m), race seven at 9.50pm SA time.
SHORELINE DREAM was an easy winner at Launceston in May at her most recent run, and from barrier one on Saturday, with Wayne Hill in the sulky, looks an excellent chance.
The unbeaten HUNGRY HIPPO, also trained by Emma Stewart and to be driven by Wayne Hill, has come up with barrier one in the 2025 SAHRC Derby (2230m).
The colt has had all three runs in Tasmania and has looked impressive, and he looks a great chance of winning again.
Also on Saturday, at Melton, star mare KISS is an acceptor in race two the Congrats Hall Of Fame Inductees Pace (2240m) at 6pm SA time.
She will carry saddlecloth 11 and starts from the outside of the second row with Ryan Sanderson in the sulky.
The mare has been freshened since running a game third in the Ladyship Stakes at Menangle on August 2.
That placing was enough to take her stake earnings past $200,000 and she has been a fantastic mare for ABR.
Sunday sees trainer Peter Bain head to Kapunda with star mare DREAMALITTLEDREAM.
The mare has drawn barrier five in the $9999 Barossa Ford & Volkswagen Kapunda Spring Cup Final (1800m), race four at 4.49pm SA time.
A winner of her past three starts, and four of her five in SA, DREAMALITTLEDREAM has good gate speed, but driver Wayne Hill faces a tough contract with some good beginners inside.
